Leslieville Christmas Pop-Up Market a Success!

toronto pop up

I had my first pop-up December 20-21 called The Leslieville Christmas Pop Up Market and I’m happy to say it was a huge success.

I made a decision that this quaint little place called 1400 Queen St East located in Leslieville would be perfect for a Christmas Pop-Up Market.

So what could I do to get the community to come out and enjoy our Pop-Up .. Well Tumbleweed and I were off to Home Depot to see what magic could happen.

After a bit of searching and some help from my event savour of the day, Ev.. We came up with this,’a free photobooth’ .. Wood and all the extras courtesy of Home Depot.  At night it looked great..

So Sarah and I tested it!  and it worked just well..

People came and took photos with their kids, families and dogs.. What a great idea! Thanks Ev!

I chatted with Queen Margherita Pizza next door and they said, “Hey! No Prob.. we’ll donate some pizza!” (Great guys) . Now we had a photobooth and food.  What next?

I passed by Any Direct Flight and we were offered free coffee/tea for those who attended which was greatly appreciated.   As I made my way through Leslieville, I appreciated the area I had moved my business into even more.  How great was it that so many business were donating an item for raffle or sponsoring the event..

(5 thumbs up)

On the day of the event..

It was a tade chilly that day but that didn’t bother Dave and his daughter who were in the back singing Christmas carols for hours. We thank them for donating their time. They definitely brought the Christmas spirit.

The Christmas Caroller – Here’s a little preview

For those who missed it, we were set up in the quaint Victorian Home, The Vandenberg house, and on the secluded terrace area in the back. A total of 15-20 unique vendors displayed their passion of art over the 2 days. We made friends and laughed, ate Qmpizza with the attendees, drank coffee courtesy of Any Direct Flight and did a little shopping while listening to some Christmas carols to spread some holiday cheer.  We had over 700 people attend this event, everyone from small to tall, babies and dogs.  I think at one point the front area of the house became a Stroller Park Up.. 🙂

I thank all that attended. I met great people and had a lot of laughs. I look forward to meeting more of the eastenders at the other pop-up events. Imagine a wine and cheese event on the back terrace on a warm summers night.. Music playing.. or a Monthly Series of Summer Pop-Ups.

From the Leslieville businesses that sponsored to the amazing warm welcoming support of the neighbourhood, to the amazing creative vendors that participated, I am humbled and grateful to all of you.  To the beach businesses and Toronto etsy street team, Leslieville Bia, Snap that advertised the event, I thank you.  The awesome pics were courtesy of Jasmine from Snap Beaches and Mat Hodel.. Thanks again!

And a big thank you to Queen Margherita Pizza, Any Direct Flight, Brow House, Hogtown Lacrosse, Hola Cafe Wine Tapas Bar , Queenshead, S&A Hair Design, The Real Jerk, Cry If I Want To, Raise The Root Organic Garden, Gerrard Square Home Depot and Garden’s Path Floral Design that sponsored the event.

Please support our local businesses since it’s the little guys that bring the unique feel that everyone loves so much.

I would love it if you would be able to supply me with some information on the pop up market. Are you doing it again this year and do you have an application form that I could complete. Thanks
